Farhan Akhtar has taken a moment to participate in an authorized statement attesting that Shah Rukh Khan, who has been an integral part of the series, won’t be reprising his job in this pending investment. Earlier on, there had been ongoing buzz about the possible replacement of Shah Rukh Khan by Ranveer Singh for the eagerly anticipated third instalment of Don. According to a report from Pinkvilla, an insider with insight into the situation shared with the entertainment outlet, “Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani engaged in numerous in-depth discussions with Shah Rukh Khan regarding Don 3. In the period preceding the pandemic, several ideas were tossed around, gradually taking the form of a script during the pandemic’s course.
Even in recent times, discussions have transpired. However, Shah Rukh Khan appears to harbour some reservations about stepping back into the shoes of Don, at least for the current phase. It seems he’s more inclined towards participating in projects with broad commercial appeal, those that resonate with a wide spectrum of audiences. Unfortunately, the nature of Don doesn’t quite align with the cinematic direction he envisions for his upcoming endeavours. This stance has been communicated to the key stakeholders at Excel.”
While Farhan Khan has not exposed the title of the new actor who’ll be rollicking the job of Don in the prequel, if the snaps are to be accepted, a new A-list actor Ranveer Singh will be playing the principal.
