Even though the NFL season has only been going for a few weeks, the Super Bowl is already on everyone’s mind. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have chosen to take on the ratings juggernaut by scheduling a competing tour date. Usher will perform at the big game’s halftime show, the NFL announced on September 24. Taylor Swift fans are preparing to watch the spectacle in the event that her new love interest, Travis Kelce, and his team the Kansas City Chiefs, repeat their appearance from last year.

Amy Poehler And Tine Fey Tour Plan

The tour, which Fey and Poehler launched in April with a string of East Coast shows that sold out, is being marketed as a celebration of their “30 years of friendship” through a “evening of jokes, never-heard-before stories, and conversational entertainment.” Fey said during a February appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers that she had discussed her and Poehler’s plans to embark on a tour with Steve Martin and Martin Short, two other touring acts.

Martin suggested marketing the tour under the slogan “This tour will be just like Steve and Marty’s tour, but without the old man smell.” That’s right, NFL, which, as far as we know, has never had a sincere catchphrase that the comedic icon specifically wrote for it.

The new (restless) leg of the tour includes extra performances in two more locations (Austin and Portland), as well as four new cities (Atlanta, San Francisco, Oakland, and New York). Tickets will go on general sale on September 29 at 10 a.m. local time on Ticketmaster, with pre-sale access beginning September 27 at 10 a.m. local time with code RESTLESS.
