The Galaxy S21 FE and the new S22 line, the release of which was immediately surrounded by scandals, are still fresh in our memory, and very soon we are expecting new foldable smartphones and the flagship S23 series. By the way, the first details about the latter have already begun to appear. According to some data, the new Samsung will look like an iPhone , judging by the renders that have leaked onto the Internet, and will also receive an excellent camera, which is rarely found in modern smartphones. In general, there is a lot of data about the Samsung Galaxy S23: it’s time to sort it out to understand what the Galaxy S23 will be like .
Let me remind you that the current Galaxy S22 turned out to be quite successful, despite the fact that it again lost out to the iPhone 13 Pro in performance. And the Exynos processor only gets better over the years, so it is likely that very soon the need for a Snapdragon version of the smartphone will disappear altogether.
What the Galaxy S23 Will Look Like
As befits a future smartphone, interesting concepts illustrating the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy S23 began to appear on the Internet in advance . One of them became known in March: insider Ice Universe demonstrated renders in which the new flagship is depicted with a screen on the entire front panel and edges painfully reminiscent of the iPhone. At the same time, the front camera (presumably 40 MP) is located under the screen.
In any case, there are simply no prerequisites for Samsung to start copying the iPhone design , so there is a high probability that the smartphone will be made in the spirit of the S22 – in any case, the designer Technizo Concept demonstrated the confirmed appearance of the Xiaomi 12 Pro and Galaxy S22, and also predicted what the Xiaomi 12 Ultra would be like last fall.
Specifications Samsung Galaxy S23
As before, Samsung plans to release smartphones in two variations: on its own Exynos chip and on Snapdragon, depending on the sales region. They say that Exynos 2300 will be the first one made using the 3-nm process technology. It uses the latest ARM cores and a graphics core from AMD. At the same time, it is not yet clear which Snapdragon chip will be in the Galaxy S23: it is unlikely to be last year’s 8 Gen 1.
It is possible that Samsung is using an updated Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus or 8 Gen 2, which is currently in development: the source reports that it will have significant improvements due to a different core layout, which will be more efficient, but will be more expensive and difficult to manufacture. Also, some sources suggest that the Samsung flagship may use the top-end MediaTek Dimensity, but I would not believe in this and I would not advise you to.
It is possible that Samsung will completely switch smartphones to Snapdragon and abandon Exynos – analyst Ming-Chi Kuo spoke about this. So, soon the confusion with chips may end and there will be fewer dissatisfied users.
But the Galaxy S23 display may turn out to be the smartphone’s killer feature: Samsung is said to have plans to implement a so-called ” waterfall display ” into the device, which wraps around the body on all sides. Samsung already has the ability to create such a screen, so there is a high probability that the idea will be implemented, unlike Xiaomi. As you may remember, a year ago the Chinese company presented an unknown smartphone with a similar screen, but the new product never went on sale.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Price
Samsung has been holding prices for smartphones for the past two years, and this has paid off – sales have grown significantly, and in some countries, smartphones have even become the most popular. However, this year the company had to significantly reduce the price of Galaxy S22 smartphones due to the performance scandal, and keeping the price of smartphones for three years in a row is an unaffordable luxury even for a South Korean brand. Add to this the ongoing chip shortage and other problems, such as the loss of the Russian market . Samsung will probably change its pricing policy, as a result of which the new products will become more expensive, but not too much – no more than 10-15% of the starting price of the Galaxy S22.
